As the long-time host of Family Feud, Steve Harvey seems genuine in how he engages with the contestants. A huge family man off screen, the award-winning actor, comedian and businessman, says he “works to leave a legacy” for his large, blended family, which is his “reason why.”
When Harvey’s not entertaining the world, he’s a doting husband, dad to seven children and grandpa to eight grandchildren, the most recent addition born in October 2023.

Born in 1957 in West Virginia, Steve Harvey, 66, is known for his sharp comedy and verbal prowess as a comedian, actor and long-time host of the TV gameshow, Family Feud.

In addition to his numerous accolades, and a 2015 Miss Universe blunder where he announced the wrong winner, Harvey is prolific in Hollywood and the patriarch of a big family.

“Family is my reason why, I work to leave a legacy and hopefully the world a better place for them,” Harvey said.

In 1982 while working as an insurance salesman, the star of Judge Steve Harvey welcomed twins Brandi and Karli, 41, with then-wife Marcia (divorced in 1994), whom he also shares Broderick, 32.

Years later, while married to his second wife, Mary Shackelford (1996 to 2006), he had another son, Wynton, now 26.

In 2007, Harvey wed Marjorie Harvey and adopted her three children, Morgan, 38, Jason, 31 and Lori, 25.

“When you’re dealing with a blended family, everyone is coming from a place of broken,” Marjorie shared with People in 2016. “We knew this was right, now we’re mom and dad to everybody.”

An adoring grandfather in his ever-growing family, the star of Love Don’t Cost a Thing is very open and takes every opportunity to boast about his gorgeous brood.

“All of my grandchildren are the reason why I wake up every morning and do what I do,” he wrote in an adorable Facebook post.

Speaking with Access Hollywood three years ago, when he only had seven grandchildren, Harvey joked about the many kids, saying, “…it’s really absolutely wonderful. You know, I hug ’em, and then I walk off, that’s it.”

Harvey continued, “‘You hungry? Go get your mama. You wanna go in the swimming pool? Go get your daddy. You want to talk to Pop Pop, go talk to Nana.’ … it’s absolutely fabulous, they don’t belong to me, they love me…because I give them everything…”

On October 10, 2023, Harvey became a grandpa for the eighth time when his and Marjorie’s son Jason welcomed their fifth child with wife Amanda.

Sharing photos on social media of her adorable baby Luz Aya, the newest member of the Harvey clan, Amanda swoons, “My beautiful Luz Aya. Light & Purity. My heart is so full baby girl!!”

The post included a gallery of pictures with Luz Aya’s tribe of four siblings, and father Jason admiring his newest creation, who already has a full head of hair!

Fans gushed over the cute baby and sent warm wishes to the new parents. “Another perfect princess. Congratulations to you and your ever-growing beautiful family!!! God is so good,” writes one.
