Warts in intimate places are essentially benign tumors arising from epithelial cells of the skin or mucous membranes. The papilloma inside contains blood vessels and connective tissue, outside it is covered with epithelium, it always rises above the surface. The shape differs between flat, filiform and pointed genital papillomas. According to localization – namely, the anatomy of the female and male genital organs, as well as papillomas of the anus, perianal region and rectum.

At first, intimate warts do not differ in color from the surrounding tissue; when injured, they can bleed and become pigmented, changing shade from pinkish-beige to light and dark brown. On the surface, the temporary formation of crusts and small scales is possible. Papillomas grow rapidly, but do not ulcerate and do not penetrate deeper than the cells of the basal layer.
