Tammy Slaton is celebrating her most recent milestone in her incredible weight loss journey. The 1000-Lb. Sisters star recently announced that she has lost a total of 500 pounds since beginning her transformation.

In an inspiring TikTok video posted on August 17th, set to Andra Day’s empowering song “Rise Up,” Tammy proudly highlights her progress alongside six other “weight loss warriors.” The video showcases each person’s weight loss, revealing that together, they have shed an astounding 2,078 pounds. Tammy expressed her admiration and gratitude in the caption, writing, “Truly absolutely amazing ladies, and I’m happy to call y’all all my friends. I’m so proud of each and every one of y’all. Not only are you beautiful on the inside, but you’re gorgeous on the outside. Never forget.”

Tammy, who stars alongside her sister Amy Slaton Halterman in the TLC series 1000-Lb. Sisters, has been open about her health struggles since the show premiered in January 2020. After undergoing bariatric surgery in July 2022 and spending 14 months in a weight loss rehab center, Tammy has been dedicated to sharing her journey both on social media and on TV. By December 2023, she had lost 48 pounds, adding to her impressive overall weight loss.

Beyond the physical transformation, Tammy has also spoken about the positive impact her journey has had on her mental health. In a February TikTok video, she shared, “Before I went to rehab, I was just bitter, unhappy, and very suicidal depressed. I personally have seen a lot of growth within myself and how I treat people and my family. And just my attitude and how happy I seem. I smile a lot more.”

Tammy has celebrated many other achievements along the way. She recounted the joy of experiencing things she once thought impossible, saying, “I actually got on rides [at Disney World.] And I rode in a hot air balloon. I value life now, where before I hated it. I hated everything about life.”
