91-year-old Michael Caine’s three-word response to Trump-Zelenskyy clash is going viral

Sir Michael Caine recently commented on the heated clash between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy visited Washington, D.C., to seek security guarantees and discuss a mineral deal amid Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.

His meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance turned tense when Vance accused Zelenskyy of not showing enough gratitude for US support. Zelenskyy fired back, questioning if Vance had even visited Ukraine during the war and warning the US about the war’s future impact. Trump snapped, telling Zelenskyy to be thankful for US support, calling him “buried” in the war and warning that Zelenskyy was “gambling with millions of lives.”

Following the confrontation, Sir Michael Caine posted a simple yet viral message on X (formerly Twitter), saying “Calm down Trump” and later referencing his iconic line from The Italian Job, “You’re only supposed to sign a ceasefire.” His comments were widely praised.

Afterward, Trump and Zelenskyy issued statements. Trump said Zelenskyy was not ready for peace if America was involved, while Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for US support and stressed Ukraine’s need for lasting peace, emphasizing the war’s impact on their survival. Zelenskyy also mentioned he was ready to sign the mineral deal, but needed security assurances from the US first.
