A former national-level tennis player, Radhika Yadav, 25, was allegedly shot dead by her father at their upscale home in Gurugram, near Delhi, on Wednesday morning. According to police, Deepak Yadav, 49, fired five shots at his daughter while she was cooking breakfast, with three bullets hitting her in the back.
Rushed to the hospital by relatives, Radhika was declared dead on arrival. Authorities say her father later confessed, citing depression and shame after being mocked by villagers for depending on her success. Tensions had reportedly escalated in recent weeks after he urged her to close her tennis academy, which she refused.The tragedy occurred around 10:30 a.m. at their residence in Sushant Lok Sector 57, one of Gurugram’s most affluent areas, shocking the nation.
