Though not known for major quakes, Tennessee lies in the active East Tennessee Seismic Zone. The state has recorded 21 quakes in the past month, with only three over magnitude 3 this year. Saturday’s quake was Tennessee’s seventh magnitude 4.0+ since 1900.
