While driving near a river in Lithuania, Audra Petraškienė spotted a soaked, trembling dog by the roadside. Stopping to help, she was horrified to find a 13-pound metal object tied around the dog’s neck—a makeshift anchor. Someone had tried to drown the poor animal. Miraculously, the dog had escaped and made it to shore. Moved and outraged, Audra took the dog home, removed the heavy weight, and began caring for the brave survivor.
