A routine flight from Denver to Miami turned chaotic when American Airlines Flight 2341 was forced to abort takeoff due to a mechanical failure that sparked a fire near the rear of the Boeing 737 MAX 8.
With 176 passengers and six crew on board, the cabin filled with smoke after a loud boom, prompting urgent evacuation via emergency slides. Air traffic control warned, “You’ve got a lot of smoke,” as flames became visible.
Passengers described the runway as “pure chaos.” One person was hospitalized with minor injuries.
