Famed country singer Todd Snider abruptly canceled his tour after being arrested for allegedly threatening hospital staff in Utah.
Todd Snider, 59, was taken into custody by South Salt Lake police on Sunday at the Holy Cross Hospital, after claiming her had suffered a ‘violent assault’ that forced him to cancel his weekend show in Salt Lake City.
The singer-songwriter allegedly refused to leave the hospital after being discharged, confronting hospital staff and threatening one person that he was going to ‘kick your a**.’
Jail records show that Snider was booked into the Salt Lake County jail Sunday at 7.10pm and charged with misdemeanors for threatening violence and criminal trespass, as well as a citation for disorderly conduct.
He was released on Monday, according to jail records.
On Monday, a statement posted to Snider’s social media accounts claimed the musician had ‘sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel,’ without elaborating.
‘Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time,’ the note read.
‘We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes.’
