A house is a place where we feel comfortable and safe, isn’t it? However, some architects and builders have decided to challenge this notion by constructing buildings that defy many human fears. Looking at these houses, you can confidently say that their creators have a strong imagination (and probably a sense of humor). House on the Drina River in Serbia
This amazing wooden house was built in 1968 by a group of local residents who would occasionally move from one bank of the Drina River to the other. Over the years, their miraculous creation was washed away seven times. However, after 2011, nature showed some mercy and stopped constantly destroying the house. Today, it is a landmark of Serbia.

Back in the 1950s, the Sizelands, an American family, acquired a rather controversial piece of land to build their dream home. There’s a very small area around the structure that gets completely submerged during high tide. It’s hard to say if this is a suitable place for a happy life.

The little house is definitely not for those who are afraid of heights. Although, perhaps the picturesque view of the sea compensates for everything.
