Since 2016, Lorne Grabher has been fighting to reclaim his personalized license plate reading “GRABHER,” which was revoked after a McGill University professor, Carrie Rentschler, argued it promoted sexual violence against women. Rentschler, an expert in gender studies, linked the plate to former President Donald Trump’s 2005 comments about women. Grabher’s lawyer, Jay Cameron, countered that the plate simply represented the family name and heritage, not Trump or any offensive intent. In a recent ruling, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court awarded Grabher $750 in court costs, saying the compensation was fair.Watch below
