Yet they’re still paraded around like circus props – utterly appalling in my opinion.Kidnapped as a calf, she spent over 80 years in brutal labor—hauling logs, performing in shows, and giving rides to tourists. Separated from her young and pushed beyond her limits, she suffered greatly, all fueled by tourism demand. But in January, everything changed. Save Elephant Foundation in Thailand stepped in, rescuing the now 87-year-old Somboon and bringing her to Elephant Nature Park. Though malnourished and weak, she’s finally free—safe, cared for, and allowed to rest at last.watch below
