Los Angeles — Francisco San Martin, the Spanish-born actor known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful, has died at 39. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death on January 16, ruling it a suicide by hanging. Born in Mérida, Spain, San Martin moved to Montana as a child, where an early love for performance grew into a career in television and film. After studying theater and relocating to Los Angeles, he found daytime success as Days of Our Lives’ Dario Hernández and later as Dr. Marco on The Bold and the Beautiful. He also appeared on Jane the Virgin and in several independent films.
