More than 100 people were injured after an Air Force F-7 BGI jet crashed onto the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, with at least 83 receiving hospital treatment, according to interim leader Muhammad Yunus’s office. The crash occurred in the afternoon while students were present, sparking panic and chaos. Television footage showed fire and smoke as bystanders tried to extinguish the flames.
The Bangladesh Army confirmed the aircraft belonged to the Air Force. Yunus promised a full investigation and support for those affected, calling the loss “irreparable.” Prothom Alo reported the jet crashed onto the college canteen’s roof.This comes just weeks after an Air India plane crashed into a hostel in Ahmedabad, killing 260 people, marking the deadliest aviation disaster in a decade.
