Superstar Sixties Singer And Songwriter Passed Away At 83

Jesse Colin Young, legendary singer-songwriter and frontman of The Youngbloods, has died at 83. His representative confirmed he passed away at his home in Aiken, South Carolina, on Saturday, March 15.Born Perry Miller on November 22, 1941, in Queens, New York, Young became a defining voice of the 1960s with The Youngbloods’ iconic hit “Get Together,” a call for peace during a turbulent era. rock, blues, and jazz, his career spanned over six decades. After attending Phillips Academy and briefly studying at Ohio State University, Young pursued music full-time, releasing two solo albums in the early ’60s before forming The Youngbloods with Jerry Corbitt, Joe Bauer, and Lowell Levinger.
