Former Boxing Champion Ricky Hatton Found Dead At 46
Tragically, Ricky Hatton, a renowned boxing pro, was discovered dead at home.
According to a statement released by police today (Sunday, September 14), Hatton, the renowned former world boxing champion, passed away at the age of 46.
After receiving a call from a neighbor, Hatton’s residence at Gree Cross, Hyde, UK, was visited by Greater Manchester Police.
Although a body was discovered at the scene, the death is “not being treated as suspicious,” according to the force.

The devastating news comes after the boxer declared in July of this year that he was coming out of retirement to fight again in December.
He would have fought for the first time in thirteen years.
The British fighter known as “The Hitman” won multiple titles and set records in the light welterweight and welterweight weight classes during the height of his career, which spanned 1997 to 2012.
He had a 45-3 lifetime record, including titles and 43 straight victories, before losing to Manny Pacquiao, Vyacheslav Senchenko, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2007.
Throughout his retirement, Hatton has been open about his battles with mental health issues, like as depression and alcohol and drug abuse.
Back in 2016, he told BBC radio, “I was coming off the rails with my drinking and that led to drugs. It was like a runaway train.”
But he had been preparing for his major return to his favorite sport in preparation for his December 2 bout against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai.
Since then, tributes to the legend have been pouring in, with former boxer Amir Khan among the first to offer his condolences.
“Today we lost not only one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton,” he told Sky News.
“As fighters, we tell ourselves we’re strong – we train, we sweat, we take hits, we get up. But sometimes the hardest fight happens in silence, in the mind.”
Khan continued: “Mental health isn’t weakness. It’s part of being human. And we must talk about it. We must reach out. We must lean on each other.”
“Ricky, thank you for everything. For your fights, your moments of glory, your grit. Thank you for pushing us, showing us what’s possible.”
“To everyone reading this: if you’re hurting or struggling, you are not alone. Talk. Reach out. Because we need more light, more compassion, more understanding.”
Tyson Fury, a British boxer, also expressed his opinion on Instagram, saying that there will only ever be one Ricky Hatton.
“Rip to the legend Ricky Hatton may he RIP.”
“Can’t believe this so young.”
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said, “Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6.45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man.”
“There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
Ricky’s three children, Campbell, 24, Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12, survive him.
