Chris Jones, a multi-time All Pro defensive tackle with the Kansas City Chiefs, became one of the top trends on X Sunday when he appeared to tear up during Reba McEntire’s rendition of the national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII.
The broadcast of McEntire’s anthem received largely rave reviews on social media despite some slight audio issues. It repeatedly cut between McEntire and troops deployed overseAas in South Korea, as well as the Las Vegas dome, which was decorated with the American flag.
The broadcast also cut to a number of players, including 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Jones stole the show, however, as the national anthem appeared to make him emotional.
