Recently, the co-hosts on “The View” were outraged at the recent questions from White House correspondent Peter Doocy regarding whether President Biden will commit to debating former President Donald Trump ahead of the election later this year.
During a recent press conference, Doocy inquired if KJP could disclose if Biden had any intentions of debating Donald Trump. Refusing to provide a direct answer, Jean-Pierre said, “That’s something for the campaign to speak to.”
“We know when the debates are going to be. We know where they’re going to be. Is he going to go?” Doocy continued asking. The press secretary responded in a similar fashion, “You should speak to the campaign.” Doocy refused to back down in his questioning, pressing her, “In 2020, once we got down to one-on-one, Joe Biden said, I can hardly wait to debate him. How about now?” KJP fired back, “I’m gonna sound like a broken record, you should reach out to the campaign.”
Unsurprisingly, the left-leaning panel of ladies on “The View” were less than pleased with Doocy’s undeterred questioning of KJP. Several co-hosts initially praised Karine Jean-Pierre for how she handled the situation. “She’s getting better and better, man,” said co-host Sunny Hostin, complimenting Jean-Pierre. “You know, thank God she’s polite,” Whoopi Goldberg chimed in. “She was maintaining decorum,” Hostin further stated.
However, Whoopi then turned her sights on Doocy, criticizing him for how he questioned KJP. “She maintained decorum, but I just … you know … I think this is what I’m talking about. When this kind of sneer, ‘So what’s he gonna do?’ I mean just ask the question, man. ‘Is he gonna debate?’ She says, ‘Ask the campaign.’ Go to the campaign! What the hell!” Goldberg said. “That’s not her job to tell you!” she continued. “Go to the campaign!”
Discussing the actual topic of a future showdown between the two candidates, co-host Joy Behar alleged that Biden would “wipe the floor” with former President Trump in a head-to-head debate. She then made an inappropriate slight toward Trump’s alleged affair with former porn star Stormy Daniels.
“On the one hand, I think that they should debate, that Biden would wipe the floor with him. Or Biden should just challenge him to pushups. Of course, the last time Trump did a pushup, he was on top of Stormy Daniels, okay?” Behar asserted.
Trump recently called for a debate against Joe Biden, claiming it is “vital” for the nation to see the candidates face off before the general election later this year. “It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People,” Trump said. “Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
