Elderly man has an accident in his pants at the store, then this woman steps in

You’re a true angel, thank you for standing up for our veterans!

Over time, people have grown apart to the point where it is common for many of us to ignore someone in need. It is generally a positive trait to not meddle in others’ affairs, but this principle should not be applied when we witness someone facing difficulties and requiring assistance.

Fortunately, individuals such as Lisa Lemming exist, renewing our belief in the goodness of humanity.

While shopping, the caretaker at a senior home center in Georgia noticed an elderly man standing near an aisle. She smiled at him, but sensed something was amiss from the troubled expression in his eyes. To ensure his well-being, she chose to approach and inquire about his condition.

The senior became emotional when she inquired about his well-being. Lisa later recounted the incident and began her post by saying: “Just spent 2 hours with an elderly man at Kroger. It started with me just smiling at him, making eye contact. As I walked past him he looked like he needed something.”
“I went back and asked him if I could help him. Tears welled up in his eyes and he said, ‘I have colon cancer and I have had a really bad accident, if I get up out of this cart everyone will know. What should I do?’”

Lisa reassured him that everything would be alright and talked to one of the staff members, explaining the situation. The workers promptly intervened without any hesitation and assisted him in tidying up. They even provided him with fresh clothes so that he could leave the store and return home comfortably.
“The look of his dignity lost left me with a lump in my throat. From that moment on, Kroger staff quickly fetched us wipes, undergarments and discreetly took him to their employer bathroom Area where he was given clothes. He cried and apologized. He said he had to hurry his wife was at home alone,” Lisa wrote.

The man, a veteran of both the Vietnam and Korean wars, felt let down by his country until Lisa’s actions renewed his faith in humanity.
The meeting concluded with tears of happiness and words of guidance.

“We both cried and I shared with him my own struggles and fears… He gave me words of wisdom and encouraged me that maybe after all, humanity still does care about one another,” Lisa wrote. “Today proved it. Thank you Elmer, thank you Kroger and thank you God for the lesson and reminder I received today.”

Small acts of kindness can have a big impact, as shown in this story.
