When we get married, we think we know everything about our spouse. At least, we know the important stuff. Our story today is about a woman who thought she had a really close relationship with her loving husband of 15 years. But one day, she found something unexpected in his stuff that shattered her trust. Now, she’s totally freaked out by what she discovered.

An enigmatic discovery turned the woman’s life upside down.

Kathleen reached out to share her family story, starting with her unsettling fear of her husband, despite him not fitting the typical scary person profile.

At 37, Kathleen and her 40-year-old husband had enjoyed 15 happy years of marriage. With two kids, a cozy home, and a Labrador, their life seemed picture-perfect. That is, until they moved into their new house two weeks ago.

While unpacking, Kathleen stumbled upon a box of her husband’s belongings. Among them were old photos from when she was 20, depicting her college days, gym sessions, and hangouts with friends. Innocent as it seemed, one tiny detail shook Kathleen to her core.

The woman continued her letter, describing how the discovery of those old photos left her feeling terrified. She explained, “All those pictures were from when I was 20, but what scared me most was that I didn’t meet my husband until my 23rd birthday. We had never crossed paths before, not until that party.”

Kathleen couldn’t shake off the eerie feeling. These photos weren’t in her family album, and she couldn’t recall anyone snapping them. As she dug deeper into the box, she uncovered more unsettling secrets. Her husband had been keeping track of her favorite spots, her friends, and even her past relationships.

She stumbled upon his diary, where he detailed how he orchestrated their first meeting. He had been stalking her, knowing exactly where she’d be and when. Kathleen realized that all those times he seemed to know her so well weren’t because they were soulmates, but because he had been spying on her.

Despite his loving demeanor, Kathleen felt sick to her stomach. She confronted him, and to her shock, he admitted everything. He had been obsessed with her since he saw her at the gym and had been following her around.

Now, Kathleen is torn. She’s considering therapy and even divorce. She can’t shake the feeling that her husband had been controlling her without her knowledge. Yet, she also admits he’s been the perfect partner and father.

We’d advise Kathleen to not be in a hurry with divorce.

We also think that what her husband did, was too much, and probably he shouldn’t have spied after her, let alone taking all these photos without her consent.

But, on the other hand, he never used his knowledge about her for doing something bad to the woman. Kathleen confessed that he has always been the best both as a husband and as a dad, so, before trying to split with her husband, we’d advise Kathleen to consider both a therapy and some more talks with her husband.

She could have a kind of agreement with him for their further life that they don’t interfere with each other’s private space anymore. Letting the past remain in the past, this is what we’d sincerely advise to the woman.
