Variety has reported that he succumbed to complications arising from pneumonia. His legacy will endure, characterized not only by his chart-toppers such as “Volare” and “Wild One” but also by a multitude of other achievements in his life.
He released multiple albums and pursued a successful acting career alongside his music. Born as Robert Louis Ridarelli in Philadelphia in 1942, he first gained significant recognition as a child after winning a talent competition in 1950.
