Four Connecticut Democrats were arrested for mishandling absentee ballots in the 2019 Bridgeport primary.The accused—Wanda Geter-Pataky, Alfredo Castillo, Nilsa Heredia, and Josephine Edmonds—face charges of illegal possession and tampering with ballots.

Officials aim to send a strong message against election fraud. The case also links to a 2023 mayoral election re-run after improper ballot handling was discovered. Charges include falsifying voter info and mishandling ballots.
