Massive Fire Engulfs Dubai Skyscraper, All Residents Safely Evacuated
A huge fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on Friday at the 67-story Marina Pinnacle tower in Dubai Marina, home to 3,820 residents. Dubai Civil Defence teams extinguished the blaze after six hours, with no injuries reported. All 764 apartments were evacuated safely, and temporary accommodations were arranged for affected residents.
Prateek M., an Indian resident, described escaping with his family through thick smoke. “We are safe, and that’s what matters,” he said. Another resident, Raza, returned to find roads blocked and helped neighbors find transportation.
Authorities are still investigating the cause, though video shows the fire started on upper floors. A similar fire had occurred in 2015 due to a kitchen mishap. Dubai’s RTA temporarily suspended metro service near the area to support firefighting efforts.
