Georgia Man Arrested For Threatening Trump’s Life

A 29-year-old Rome, Georgia, man, Jauan Rashun Porter, was arrested after allegedly posting violent threats against President Donald Trump during a TikTok livestream on July 26. According to a Justice Department release, Porter wrote that he would “put a bullet” in Trump’s head and later warned he would kill federal agents; investigators say similar comments continued for minutes. A search of Porter’s apartment turned up two pipes, pistol ammunition, and Tannerite. Prosecutors noted Porter has prior convictions including terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and is currently on probation. He’s been charged with making threats against the President and is due at a detention hearing on August 12. U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg said the allegations were “serious” and that threats against public officials won’t be tolerated.
